The UK’s largest low-energy, Passivhaus building

Metropolitan Formwork worked with Willmott Dixon on the construction of the £42m George Davies Centre for Leicester University’s School of Medicine. Sustainability was an important priority for this building. In fact, the extremely low-energy design contributes to its status as the UK’s largest Passivhaus building.

In practical terms, this means the energy consumption of this six-story building is expected to be just 80kWh/m² (compared to the previous facility’s 500kWh/m²). This could reduce the energy bill by up to six times.
